Terrible Diet Ideas Guaranteed to Exhaust and Depress You
We’ve all tried and failed miserably with at least one or two fad diets. The gimmicks and testimonials are so appealing that even the smartest women fall victim to their clutches. I’ve certainly been there, but let me tell you, none of these fad diets results in long-lasting weight-loss. While some of these trends result in more weight-loss than others, you’re still unlikely to keep it off for good. They will just exhaust and depress you. Learn from my mistakes and avoid the following diets.
Juice Fasting
I love orange juice so I thought, “Hey this will be easy!” Well let me tell you that no matter how much you enjoy juice, drinking in place of a hearty meal for weeks is not satisfying, not one bit. You’ll never make it unless you have absolutely no social life and you enjoy being miserable. I think I lasted for about a day and a half, but perhaps your resolve is stronger than mine.
The Master Cleanse
Oh this is by far the worst of the worst. It rose to popularity a few years ago when Beyonce said she lost 20 or more pounds in just a few weeks. This diet consists of drinking a strange maple syrup, lemon juice, cayenne pepper concoction that is certainly a challenge to guzzle down several times throughout the day. Food is not allowed at any point of this fast, however, an ample supply of laxative tea and salt water is recommended. I lasted about six hours on this silly diet and I ended up with a terrible stomach ache.
Atkins Diet
Who can live without bread, rice, pasta, fruit, cereal or dessert? Well not me apparently. This Atkins diet aims to cut nearly every carb from your diet. If you can handle your double bacon cheese burger without a bun, then you might lose a few pounds on this diet, but you’re guaranteed to feel as greasy as an oiled auto part.
